Donesia Gause began a career in public service early in life. Donesia is known for her advocacy, where she prides herself on building bridges across generations, gender, race, and culture to foster a healthy community. Her passion for advocating for others led her to public office. Donesia is currently the City Clerk for the City of Riverside.

Before her work in Riverside, Donesia also served in leadership and management roles Carson, Compton, Baldwin Park, Newport Beach, and Long Beach. She has developed her reputation as a progressive municipal leader.

Donesia graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management. Having a strong belief in professional development, she achieved her Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation and became a Certified Elections and Registration Administrator (CERA). Now, she serves as a mentor and a trainer to other California City Clerks aspiring to receive the status of Certified Municipal Clerk.

Donesia serves on the Voting Solutions for All People (VSAP) Advisory Committee. She provides input and technical expertise on voting system modernization, ensuring that integrity and transparency are maintained and expanded to community engagement and voter education. Donesia sits on the Executive Committee for the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, Los Angeles Chapter. She invests her time to help educate, enhance, encourage and empower men and women of color in the public sector.

Furthermore, she advocates for New Image Emergency Shelter for the Homeless, Inc., hoping to reduce and prevent homelessness throughout LA County.

Donesia Gause has over 20 years of public service experience directly related to serving the needs of others. She is married and a proud mother of three.
