Sample Mission Statements

We have drafted some sample mission statements for the neighborhood association and would appreciate your feedback:

Please review the attached mission statement options and let us know if you have any suggested revisions or preferences. We welcome your insights as we aim to craft a mission statement that represents the values and objectives of our community.

If one of the samples resonates with you as effectively capturing the purpose of the association, please indicate which one you favor.  If none of the statements works for you please send your suggestion for the Mission Statement.

The Mission Grove Neighborhood Association is a community organization dedicated to making Mission Grove a safe, welcoming, and thriving place to live. We work to improve the quality of life for all residents by:

Statement 5

The Mission Grove Neighborhood Association (MGNA) is a community-based organization that promotes public participation in City governance and decision-making processes to ensure that government is more responsive to local needs.

We do this by:

  • Bridging the gap between our stakeholders and local government

  • Engaging the broad spectrum of MGNA stakeholders for collaboration and deliberation on matters affecting the community

  • Working to achieve the objectives or projects that the MGNA desires to support

  • Monitoring and promoting the delivery of City services within Mission Grove

  • Promoting MGNA stakeholder participation and advocacy in City government decision-making processes

  • Promoting greater awareness of and achieving maximum utilization of available resources

  • Being an advocate for the MGNA community to government and private agencies

  • Presenting to the Mayor and the City Council a list of MGNA priorities for the City budget
